Challenge
To replace the mobile application with a web based platform capable of handling heavy traffic, regular content and feature updates and thousands of users.
Frequent changes to features, events and venue listings demanded fast content updates. Traffic spiked during voting periods, risking slowdowns. Venues needed consistent profiles with images, menus, and locations. Without a unified site, information was scattered, making it difficult for locals and tourists to navigate festival activities.
Our solution
We created a dynamic digital hub that supported voting, venue discovery, events, and festival storytelling. Business where able to manage their own listings, whilst the client could easily manage the apps complex features themselves in a timely fashion.
We designed a colourful, mobile-first interface reflecting Darwin’s food culture. A directory allowed users to explore venues, menus, and locations. Secure voting increased engagement across the festival. Flexible components enabled rapid content updates, while performance optimisation ensured the site stayed fast during peak traffic periods.
